Alan Kraus

Dr. Kraus obtained his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis in 1982. He completed his medicine internship at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis in 1983 and his anesthesiology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 1985. After completing his residency in 1985, he entered private practice in anesthesiology and pain management in Memphis.

Dr. Kraus took time off from his private practice in 1994 and completed a pain fellowship at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, South Carolina. He returned to Memphis after completing his pain fellowship, and he has been in private practice in interventional pain management at the Memphis Pain Clinic since then. Special interests include interventional pain procedures for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, spinal cord stimulation, and opiate management for chronic pain. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Kraus is licensed in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. He has been recognized by Memphis Magazine as one of the city’s “Top Doctors” and named one of the Top Pain Management Specialists by U.S. News & World Report.
