Semmes Murphey Foundation
Semmes Murphey Foundation is an internationally recognized research and education institute that administers clinical trials, maintains patient registries, and facilitates training of the next generation of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neuroscientists.
With financial support from our physicians, hospital and industry partners, and community donors, the Foundation provides funding for five post-graduate fellowships, two national quality registries, publications in peer-reviewed journals, advanced training workshops for physicians, and clinical trials covering all areas of brain and spine care.

Clinical Research
In partnership with Semmes Murphey physicians and industry sponsors, the Semmes Murphey Foundation staff facilitate studies in neurosurgery, neuro-intervention, neurology, and neuropsychology.
Since 2018, the Foundation has attracted more than $10 million in private research funding for trials that bring new treatments and protocols to patients of Semmes Murphey. Quality Outcomes
Since 2012, more than 10,000 Semmes Murphey patients have been enrolled in the spine surgery registry, a long-term project to gain insights about surgical care and patient well-being. From following these patients, we know that Semmes Murphey patients consistently show better than average improvement in physical ability and quality of life at three-month, one-year, and subsequent follow-up intervals.
