Two Semmes Murphey Physicians Nominated for Memphis Business Journal 2025 Health Care Heroes

Congratulations to Drs. Eden and Klimo for being named finalists for the 2025 Health Care Heroes awards by the Memphis Business Journal!

We’re excited to share that the Memphis Business Journal named Dr. Sonia Eden and Dr. Paul Klimo of Semmes Murphey Clinic as finalists for the 2025 Health Care Heroes awards.

Dr. Sonia Eden, who is based in Oxford, Mississippi, is an American Board of Neurological Surgery board-certified neurosurgeon and specializes in minimally invasive surgeries to treat conditions like brain and spine tumors, traumatic spine injury, nerve ailments and more. Along with her work as an accomplished neurosurgeon, Eden is passionate about health equity and is a proud founding member of the American Society of Black Neurosurgeons, where she serves as vice president.

Dr. Paul Klimo is a pediatric neurosurgeon at Semmes Murphey and is also chief of pediatric neurosurgery at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital. In 2006, he entered the United States Air Force where he served four years of active duty and was deployed to Afghanistan at Bagram Air Field. He received an honorable discharge in July 2010 as a Lt. Colonel-select.
