Whitney Gatewood

Whitney is a certified Physician's assistant who helps patients with general neurological disorders. Whitney has a strong interest in headache medicine and brain injuries. She has an AQH (Added Qualification in Headache Medicine) and continues to learn about new treatments and advances in headache management.

Whitney grew up in Paragould, Arkansas. As a college student, Whitney had every intention of attending law school. However, in high school, she witnessed some of her fellow cheerleaders heal from a car accident—this lead Whitney to pursue a career as a Physician's Assistant. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science, she moved to Memphis to start Physician's A school at Christian Brothers University. Whitney developed a strong interest in neurology while studying traumatic brain injuries. Considering Semmes Murphey's reputation for excellent brain care, she set a goal to begin her career here. In 2016 Whitney graduated from PA school and soon after was offered a position working with Dr. Lance Wright.

Today, Whitney is still involved with the Physician's Assistant program at Christian Brothers University. She enjoys lecturing on headaches and sharing her expertise with various neurological conditions. Whitney lives with her husband, a pediatric neurology resident, and their energetic dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, true crime documentaries, yoga, and going to the lake.
