Aubrey Garmen

Aubrey is a hospital-based nurse practitioner specializing in neurosurgery, with a focus on inpatient consultation and management of complex cranial and spinal pathology. She collaborates closely with neurosurgeons and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate, diagnose, and guide care for a broad spectrum of neurosurgical conditions, including degenerative spine disease, traumatic brain and spine injury, and intracranial pathology.

She previously practiced as a neurocritical care nurse practitioner at a high-acuity, tertiary care center, where she managed critically ill patients with complex neurologic conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and refractory seizures. This experience informs her current practice, particularly in the assessment of neurologic acuity, perioperative risk, and complex inpatient management.

Her current role includes comprehensive inpatient consultations, development and implementation of evidence-based treatment plans, and coordination of care across services to ensure continuity throughout hospitalization. She is actively involved in perioperative assessment and management, with an emphasis on optimizing outcomes and maintaining high standards of patient safety.

Aubrey is committed to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care, while providing clear communication and education to patients and their families in the setting of complex neurological disease.
