  • Assisted the professor in setting up and running the Organic Chemistry lab during the summer session.

Heart and Lung Transplant Preservationist, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, TN

  • On-call Heart and Lung transplant organ preservationist for the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Transplant Department while attending college.

Ophthalmology Research Fellow, The Hamilton Eye Institute, Memphis, TN

  • Worked closely with the UT Chair of Ophthalmology, Dr. Barrett Haik. Fulfilled a wide range of responsibilities including: attending resident clinics, observing surgeries, attending lectures, working with St. Jude’s Cure4Kids, logged over 250 hours of training time on the Eyesi Ophthalmic Microsurgical Simulator, and tested new software for the microsurgical simulator.

Ophthalmology Research Fellow, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN

  • Research focused on retinoblastoma and worked closely with the Chair of Ophthalmology at St. Jude, Dr. Matthew Wilson. Assisted with EUAs and surgeries, built a database of thousands of patient specific retinoblastoma RETCAM images for future research efforts. Assisted in and developed several research projects.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital- Cure4Kids International Website, Memphis, TN

  • St. Jude Cure4Kids is the leading educational and collaboration website dedicated to supporting the care of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases worldwide. Cure4Kids provides high quality content for continuing education and web communication tools to support collaborations among more that 32,000 physicians, nurses and other healthcare professional in 184 countries. I compiled and created educational retinoblastoma EUA videos as well as authored articles on retinoblastoma for publication on the Cure for Kids website.

The Rhoton Collection- 3D Neuroanatomical Presentations, Memphis, TN

  • Worked as a neuroanatomical editor of the 3-dimensional presentations of Dr. Albert Rhoton’s presentations. These presentations are available in 2D and 3D formats through The American Association of Neurological Surgeons iTunes U collections as well as being provided in Blu-ray format to each registrant at the 2011 AANS Annual Scientific Meeting.
