Joshua D. Hughes, MD

Dr. Hughes was raised in various parts of Mississippi. He graduated with a degree in English from Mississippi College. He then spent a few years working at a community for adults with developmental disabilities while he figured out what to do with an English degree. Eventually, he attended the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson and decided to pursue a career in neurosurgery.

After graduating medical school, he moved north and spent seven years braving frigid winters in Rochester, Minnesota completing his neurosurgery residency at the Mayo Clinic. During this time, he published multiple papers and completed a year of focused training in skull base neurosurgery.
He currently works and lives in Oxford, Mississippi with his wife, two daughters, a dog, and a cat.
